Three Markets Opened From Zero, Thirteen Brands Built: Fay Chapple Formalises NorthFuse Group as a Market Entry and Franchise Practice
The former Godiva Director of Global Retail who launched brands for Unilever and Wilkinson Sword now sells the same discipline to companies — backed by thirteen brands she built with her own money.
TORONTO, Canada — Fay Chapple has spent three decades doing one thing: making brands exist in places they didn’t before. As Director of Global Retail at Godiva Chocolatier she built the international network across Japan, the Pacific Rim and Europe — a $300M brand with 400+ points of distribution, and a Canadian launch that went from zero to $10M. Wilkinson Sword hired her to open Canada, a market where the brand had no customers at all. Unilever Ventures handed her North America for Dove Spa as a blank page.
In 2009 her husband suffered a catastrophic brainstem stroke. Chapple carried the global role for two more years before the travel became impossible — then built Clarity Centre, an award-winning wellness centre with fifty teachers, over a hundred classes a week and its own registered yoga school. The Mastermind City followed, training thousands of entrepreneurs worldwide, then FC & Co, the franchise consulting practice she still runs and the reason she judges the Elite Franchise 100.
Nine further brands have launched in the last five years, spanning media, membership, software, live events and physical product — among them the award-winning podcast Too Late My Ass™, which reached the Apple Podcasts Top 50 across all shows at launch and is now in its third season.
“Anyone can write a market-entry deck. Very few people have stood in an empty unit in a country they don’t live in and made it open on time. I have done that three times for other people’s brands and thirteen times for my own.”

Fay Chapple is a brand builder, keynote speaker and author — founder of NorthFuse Group. For more than 25 years she made brands exist where they didn’t before: as Director of Global Retail at Godiva Chocolatier she built the international network of joint ventures, licensees, franchisees and corporate stores across Japan, the Pacific Rim and Europe, running P&Ls over $300M with 400+ points of distribution and launching Canada from zero to $10M. Wilkinson Sword hired her to open Canada from no customers at all; Unilever Ventures handed her North America for Dove Spa as a blank page, and she defined the brand, found the sites, designed the store, hired the team and opened it. Throughout, she was quietly building on the side — a global subscription newsletter with thousands of readers, run for six years. In 2009 her husband suffered a catastrophic brainstem stroke; she carried the global role two more years before the travel became impossible. She then built Clarity Centre, an award-winning wellness centre with fifty teachers, a hundred-plus classes a week and its own registered yoga school; The Mastermind City, which trained thousands of entrepreneurs worldwide; FC & Co, her franchise consulting practice; and the complete franchise system for Sunnyside Grill. Nine further brands have followed in five years, including the award-winning podcast Too Late My Ass™. Brands she has worked with include Yves Saint Laurent, The Body Shop, Samsonite, Spence Diamonds, Firkin Pubs and Village Candle. An Ivey MBA, Entrepreneur of the Year, and Judge of the Elite Franchise 100, her book Nothing You Survive Is Wasted arrives in 2026.
